On January 12, 2021 a new COVID-19 State of Emergency announced by the Province of Ontario. As per the recommendation from the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) effective January 12, 2021 open houses remain prohibited until further notice.
While open houses are a common real estate practise that help sellers achieve good value for their homes and educate potential buyers about a property, these factors are secondary to protecting the health of our sales representatives and their clients and limiting the spread of COVID-19. On-Premise open houses are prohibited until further notice. However, virtual open houses are allowed. In addition to virtual open houses there are many other virtual tools that our sales representatives are currently using to market and showcase properties, such as our website, the MLS.CA Website, virtual tours, video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Skype and FaceTime.
